Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cups idli batter
  2. 1 cup Semolina
  3. 1 cup curd
  4. 1 1/2 cup water
  5. 1 cup grated bottle gourd
  6. 1 cup grated carrot
  7. 1/2 cup finely chopped green capsicum
  8. 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  9. 2 tbsp ground nuts
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1/2 tsp fruit salt
  12. For Tempering:
  13. 3 tbsp oil
  14. 2 tsp mustard seeds
  15. 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  16. 2 tsp curry leaves
  17. 2 tsp green chillies

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add idli batter, semolina salt, sugar and curd. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Add some water, bottle gourd, carrot, capsicum, ground nuts, green chillies and mix it well. Consistency should be like idli batter.
  3. In a small frying pan add 2 tsp oil, temper mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, sesame seeds and add that into the batter.
  4. Add fruit salt and mix it well.
  5. Now in another non stick deep pan do some tempering as above and add 4 tbsp of batter and cover it with lid. Cook it for 8 minutes and then turn it out and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
