Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup hot water
  2. 2 tsp instant yeast
  3. 3 cups of flour
  4. 2 tsp salt
  5. 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix yeast with water. Let it sit for some time until the yeast is dissolved.
  2. Add 2 1/2 cup flour , olive oil and salt in the bowl. Mix the ingredients together.
  3. Sprinkle some flour from remaining 1/2 cup on a clean surface, turn out the dough from bowl. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rest for some time, then knead again.
  5. Sprinkle the oil in a bowl, keep the kneaded dough in the bowl and cover it completely with oil.
  6. Cover with a cloth or cling film. Let the flour rise until its double in size. Keep it aside for 1-2 hours.
  7. Deflate the dough on a clean surface and knead again. Turn and roll the dough frequently.
  8. Divide the dough into 8-10 balls. Roll the balls using a rolling pin.
  9. Sprinkle a little flour, if needed, to avoid sticking to the pin.
  10. Warm a flat pan, drizzle little oil. Lay a rolled-out pita on the pan, bake for 30secs-1 min until bubble start to form.
  11. Flip and bake the other side.
  12. Serve hot with hummus, tzatziki, lebnah or any dip of your choice.

Looks really nice. Will using wheat flour yield same results?
