ABOUT Daal Vada RECIPE

There's nothing like a crisp vada. Mildly spiced yet full of flavor, this vada is a favourite tea time snack

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup channa dal soaked for 2 hours
  2. 1/2 inch piece ginger
  3. 1 onions
  4. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  5. 1 1/2 tsp sooji
  6. 2 cloves of garlic
  7. salt to taste
  8. mint or coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  9. green chilli 1
  10. Curry leaves - 20
  11. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. In a blender add all the ingredients other than the curry leaves . Grind to a coarse paste.
  2. Check for salt. Add in the curry leaves. Mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan to deep fry. Now wet your hands and shape tikkis with the batter. Drop into hot oil.
  4. Fry until the tops are golden or almost red-brown and then drain on a paper towel.
  5. Serve with chutney of your choice
