Ingredients to make Shahi Mutton Kofta

  • For koftas - Mutton mince 500 gms
  • Onion (1 large) + green chilli paste (as per taste)
  • gram flour dry roasted 1 tbsp
  • Fried onions 2 tbsp
  • Ground cashew nuts 8
  • nutmeg powder 1/4 tsp
  • mace powder 1/4 tsp
  • cumin seeds dry roasted and powdered 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • For gravy : onion paste (2 Large onions)
  • curd 1 cup
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • cumin powder 1tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Green chillies 3
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • Oil or ghee 2/3 cup

How to make Shahi Mutton Kofta

  1. Mix all the ingredients under koftas together and make lemon size balls and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a vessel
  3. Add onion, ginger, garlic paste and fry on a high flame till golden.
  4. Add yogurt and all the dry masalas, mix well and cook till oil separates.
  5. Add 2-3 cups of water and wait for a boil.
  6. Add koftas and wait for a boil, cover and cook on a medium flame for 12 minutes.
  7. Dish it out and garnish with chillies and coriander leaves.
  8. Serve with rice, roti or naan.
