Ingredients to make Soft and Crispy Baked Cheese Crisps

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

How to make Soft and Crispy Baked Cheese Crisps

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Use only parchment paper for preparing cheese crisps. Greased aluminum foil won't give the best results.
  2. Lightly toast the cumin seeds and then coarsely grind it in mortar and pestle. Add it to the shredded cheese in a bowl. Mix it gently.
  3. Take two tablespoons of cheese mixture and spread it evenly on the lined baking sheet to form a 4 to 4.5 inch round. Repeat this step for the rest of the mixture leaving a 2 inch gap between the rounds.
  4. Bake the sheets one by one in the preheated oven for 6-8 minutes until it begins to brown slightly. Do not let the cheese brown too much else it will become bitter. I used mozzarella cheese and it took 6 minutes for me to cook perfectly.
  5. Take out the baking sheet and lift it using a spatula and fold it gently over a rolling pin or lay it flat on a kitchen paper towel. Allow it to cool completely. Serve immediately or store in an air tight container.

My Tip:

Do not let the cheese crisps brown too much else they will become bitter. Make sure that you use only parchment paper for making these cheese crisps.
