Ingredients to make Nutty Chocolauki Cake

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup almonds (chopped)
  • 1+1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1+1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup thick curd
  • 1/2 cup oil or butter
  • 1 cup lauki (grated)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • A pinch of salt

How to make Nutty Chocolauki Cake

  1. In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder & salt thrice and keep aside.
  2. In another bowl, mix the curd and sugar and beat well.
  3. Add the oil or butter and beat well again.
  4. Add the grated lauki & vanilla essence and mix well.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients little at a time and gently fold in. Add some of the chopped almonds into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased tin and add the remaining almonds on the top.
  7. Bake at 180 degrees C for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

My Tip:

This delicious cake is very well complimented by chocolate sauce and your favorite cup of freshly brewed hot coffee! Pure indulgence!
