Chachraa

Ingredients to make Chachraa

  • Fish head - 1 fried and cut in half
  • pumpkin - 250 gm
  • radish - 1 medium with the leaves
  • Brinjal - 200 gm
  • Pui Sai (Malabar spinach/Ceylon spinach) - 250 gm
  • Parwal - 2 medium size
  • potato - 2 medium size
  • French bean - 100 gm
  • bottle gourd (Lauki) - 200 gm
  • salt
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Dry Red chilli - 2
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • onion - 1 medium
  • oil
  • Paanchforan - 1 tsp

How to make Chachraa

  1. Fry the fish head and break into rough medium pieces.
  2. In a different pan add oil and heat. Now add the paanch foran and dry red chilli.
  3. Now add chopped onion. Now add the chopped vegetables as per order - Radish, Potato, parwal, beans. Add salt and turmeric and mix. Cover the pan for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Now add rest of the vegetables and the fried fish head and mix. Cover again till the vegetables get cooked.
  5. Now open the cover and stir properly. Now add the green chilli and oil from top and mix well.
  6. Remove from flame and have it with rice or roti.

My Tip:

You can add other vegetables like cabbage etc.
