Puffed Rice with Potato Chop

Ingredients to make Puffed Rice with Potato Chop

  • For Puffed Rice: Puffed Rice - 1 bowl, mustard Oil - 2 tsp, Chopped Onion - 4 tbsp, Chopped Green Chilli - 2 tsp
  • For potato Chop:
  • Boiled and mashed potato - 5 medium size
  • salt as per taste
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • besan - 1 bowl
  • Water for mixing the besan
  • Green chilli chopped - 1 tsp
  • onion paste - 1 tsp
  • ginger paste - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Puffed Rice with Potato Chop

  1. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of the puffed rice and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, add oil for deep frying and let it heat up.
  3. Now make the besan batter. In a bowl, add the besan, salt, red chilli powder and salt. Mix with a spoon. Now add water in the besan to get a thick semi liquid consistency like that of a cake batter. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a bowl add the boiled and mashed potato. Now add salt, red chilli powder, green chilli, onion paste, Ginger paste and mix well.
  5. Make round, flat, medium size chops from the potato mix.
  6. In the besan batter,add 4 to 5 tbsp hot oil from the pan kept for frying.
  7. Dip the potato chop in the besan batter and the in the pan for deep frying. Fry on both side till golden brown. Remove from oil.
  8. Serve Hot with Puffed Rice.
