Classic Butter Pound Cake

Ingredients to make Classic Butter Pound Cake

  • all purpose flour 2 cups
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • salt 1/4 tsp
  • sugar 1.5 cups
  • Vanilla Essence 2 Tsp
  • Milk 3/4 cup
  • 1 cup butter (room temperature)
  • eggs 4 nos

How to make Classic Butter Pound Cake

  1. Pre heat the oven at 180 degree.
  2. Grease a 9x5 pound cake pan.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the sugar and butter.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and beat it until frothy.
  6. Add vanilla essence and beat again.
  7. Now add the flour mix and milk in 3 portions, starting and ending with flour.
  8. Beat until everything is well blended.
  9. Don't over beat or it will be dense.
  10. Pour the mix in the greased pan.
  11. Bake it for 45 minutes at 170 degree.
  12. Take it out and do the toothpick test.
  13. If It comes out clean then it's baked or else bake for another 10 minutes at 150 degree.

My Tip:

Add cinnamon for that lovely aroma.
