Braised Pork

Ingredients to make Braised Pork

  • 450g Pork (boneless)
  • 2 cups Vegetabel/chicken stock
  • 1/4cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 3 potatoes and cut in wedges
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1tbsp sugar
  • 3tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped Fresh ginger
  • 1tsp Spice powder

How to make Braised Pork

  1. Combine pork, soy sauce, sherry, sugar and five-spice powder in a bowl. Marinate for an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add pork and fry until golden and sealed on all sides.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, onion. Stir-fry 2 mins. Add reserved marinade and stock to cover. Bring to a boil, simmer for 1.5 hours.
  4. Check for tenderness, if not done at 1/4 cup of stock or water and simmer for another half an hour.
  5. Serve hot with potatoes wedges.
