Onion Cashew Nut Pulav

Ingredients to make Onion Cashew Nut Pulav

  • 3 bowls of rice
  • 3 medium sized onion cut length wise
  • 6-7 black pepper corns
  • 2-3 green cardomom
  • 1 black cardomom
  • 2-3 bay leaves,
  • 4-5 cloves
  • cashew nuts 20-25
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pulav masala ( Optional)
  • oil as required

How to make Onion Cashew Nut Pulav

  1. Wash and drain the rice and keep aside for 1/2 hour.
  2. Take one onion from the above and fry till turns brown and keep aside.
  3. Heat the pan with 1 tbsp of oil, add all Khada Masala 1/2 minute on medium flame. Add remaining 2 onions from the above and sauté for 5 mins. The onion should turn pink.
  4. Add cashew nuts and fry for another 1/2 minute.
  5. Add Rice and mix well with all the ingredients. Saute for 6-7 minutes so that all the masala flavor mixes well. Add 5 cups of water, add salt to taste and Pulav Masala (Optional)
  6. Keep lid on the pan and let the pulav cook on medium flame for 10 minutes.
  7. Open the lid and check the rice. If it's done mix the fried onion in to the pulav, Put the lid on the pan. Switch off the gas. Let Pulav cook in its own steam.
