Paneer Butter Masala without Cream

Ingredients to make Paneer Butter Masala without Cream

  • onions (Chopped) 3
  • tomatoes (Chopped) 4
  • cumin Seeds ½ tsp
  • cashew nuts 10-12 piece
  • Green cardamom 1
  • red chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric Powder ¼ tsp
  • coriander Powder ½ tsp
  • Dried fenugreek Leaves 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • cottage cheese cubes(Paneer) 500gm
  • oil 2tbs
  • butter Amul Lite) 100 gm

How to make Paneer Butter Masala without Cream

  1. Take a wok and heat oil in that. Add green cardamom, cumin seeds and chopped onions to it. Saute it for 5 min.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes along with cashew nuts and cook it for 5 min.
  3. Now add dry spices like red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and let it cook for another 5 min. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  4. Transfer this mixture to a jar and grind it to a fine and smooth paste.
  5. In a pan take butter and add the puree to it. Add dry fenugreek leaves (Kasoori Methi) and garam masala. Cover the pan and let the puree cook for 5 min.
  6. Once done, add Cottage cheese cubes (Paneer) and salt and cook it for 2-3 min.
  7. Here is your healthy, delicious Paneer Butter Malsa Ready to serve. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

My Tip:

To make my recipe healthier, I have used Amul lite butter for this recipe as it is low in calories and have used cashew nuts instead of cream to give it creamy texture.
