Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 6 Brown Bread slices (cut into square pieces)
  2. 1 Onion sliced
  3. Few curry leaves
  4. 1 Chopped tomato
  5. 1 Green capsicum finely chopped
  6. 1 Red capsicum (bell pepper) finely chopped
  7. 2 table spoon peanuts (moongphali)
  8. 1 Chopped green chilly
  9. 1 Teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
  10. 1/2 Teaspoon urad dal
  11. 1/2 Teaspoon chana dal
  12. Pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
  13. Salt according to taste
  14. Red chilly powder according to taste
  15. 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  16. 1 teaspoon sugar (optional according to taste)
  17. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  18. 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. Take the bread and cut it into square pieces.
  2. Now take a pan, add oil, once hot add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  3. Now add peanuts, roast for a minute, add chana dal and urad dal, cook for a minute.
  4. Add onion to this, stir for a minute.. then add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.
  5. Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilly powder, mix well.
  6. Now add chopped red and green capsicum, cook for a minute or two
  7. Add bread squares to this mixture, sprinkle few drops of water so that bread is coated with the vegetable mixture nicely.
  8. Switch off the gas, add lemon juice, sugar and coriander leaves. Mix well and serve hot.
