Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Butter - 1/2 cup (110 grams)
  2. powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup (65 grams)
  3. Maida - 1 cup (165 grams)
  4. Salt - 1/8 tsp
  5. vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Bring all the ingredients to room temperature. Sift the flour and salt and keep aside.
  2. First, add the butter and sugar to a bowl and beat them until pale and fluffy.
  3. Slowly add the sifted flour & salt to the beaten butter & sugar mixture and start bringing the dough together.
  4. At first you might feel the dough is a bit dry. Do not panic, the butter will absorb all of the maida and will become soft
  5. Spread a cling foil or butter paper on your working surface.
  6. Over the cling foil, add the mixed dough and make a log shape.
  7. Wrap the dough little firmly and refrigerate for an hour.
  8. You might also spread a baking paper Now, take the refrigerated dough and cut biscuit of thickness ½ inches .
  9. Arrange the cut biscuits on the tray with at least 2 inches gap between them.
  10. Bake them at 180°C for 20 – 25 minutes. Or 200 °c for 12 to 15 mins.
  11. Once done, remove them and cool them completely on a wire rack and store them in an airtight container.
