Mixed Berry Brownie Trifles

Ingredients to make Mixed Berry Brownie Trifles

  • For Brownies---
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 6oz (170g) chocolate chips (any variety)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1-1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For Topping---
  • 6oz blackberries
  • 6oz strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • whipped cream as needed

How to make Mixed Berry Brownie Trifles

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Deg F.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate on low heat till smooth. Switch off gas.
  3. Add sugar and salt. Stir to dissolve. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract. Stir well.
  4. Add flour little at a time till all is used up mixing well with spatula and having no lumps.
  5. Take a baking pan and line it with ovenproof parchment paper (or silicon cake pan).
  6. Pour the batter in the pan and thump it on the counter for even layer and minimal air bubbles.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes or till toothpick when pierced comes out clean. Cool thoroughly. Cut in cubes.
  8. Topping---Combine berries and sugar and leave it aside for 10 minutes.
  9. To serve---In a glass/jar, lay pieces of brownies on the bottom. Top them with berries and cream. Repeat the layer one more time and refrigerate to chill.
