Ingredients to make Smoked Butter Fish in Red Grevy

  • Boneless Vetki (600 gm)
  • lime juice (2 tsp)
  • ginger Garlic Paste (2 tsp)
  • red chilli paste(1 tbsp)
  • Hung curd(2 tbsp)
  • Tumeric Powder(As required)
  • Dry chilli powder(As required)
  • Fried onion paste(1/2 cup)
  • Fried garlic Paste(1 tsp)
  • Fried ginger paste(1 tsp)
  • Fried Charmagaj & poppy seed paste(50 gm)
  • Kashmiri chilli powder(1 tsp)
  • Kasurimethi paste(1 tsp)
  • tomato Ketchup(2 tbsp)
  • Green cardamom powder(1 tsp)
  • Fried besan(1 tsp)
  • Red & Yellow Belpaper(As required pieces)
  • Green capsicum(As tequired)
  • butter(100 gm)
  • sugar(As per taste)
  • salt (as required)
  • White oil(1 tsp)
  • Charcole(2 pieces)
  • ghee(1 tbsp)

How to make Smoked Butter Fish in Red Grevy

  1. After cleaning the fish, marinate it with lime juice for 10 min.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste,salt,sugar,red chilli paste,hung curd,white oil with marinated fish.
  3. Keep the fish in fridge for 30 min.
  4. Shallow fry the marinated fish with butter.
  5. In a kadai, add fried ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt,sugar,tomato ketchap, belpaper & capsicum, kashmiri chilli powder.
  6. Add charmagaj & poppy seed paste and kasurimethi paste.
  7. After some time add fried fish and besan in it.
  8. Add luke warm water to make the grevy lighter.
  9. After some time add green cardamom powder & butter in it.
  10. Burn the charcoal and add ghee on it.
  11. Put the burnt charcoal in a bowl and put it inside the bowl where the dish is kept.
  12. Take a piece of foil paper and sealed the bowl properly.
  13. Serve it with Butter nun or Romali Roti.

My Tip:

While making the smoky flavour try to do as fast as possible else the flavour will go.
