Soya Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients to make Soya Shepherd's Pie

  • For soya filling:-
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp all ground spice
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric pwd
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomato
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 3-4 tbsp water or as required
  • 1 cup soaked soya granules
  • salt as required
  • Few freshly chopped coriander
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • For potato mash:-
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 cup boiled mashed potato
  • salt as required
  • Pinch of chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp lemon Juice

How to make Soya Shepherd's Pie

  1. For soya filling:
  2. Heat the butter in a pan and add the bay leaves and cinnamon stick followed by the onion and fry for a couple of minutes, then add the green chilies, salt, chilly powder, turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes and tomato puree, water, and soya granules, all ground spice and continue frying for 5-6 minutes until everything is mixed well.
  3. For potato mash:
  4. Heat butter in a pan, add ginger garlic paste and let it brown, add salt, chilly powder, turmeric powder, mashed potato and butter, switch off the flame and mix well, add lemon juice and mix well.
  5. Now add the soya filling into ramekin.
  6. Pipe out the potato mash over it.
  7. Bake the dish for 10-12 mins in a preheated oven at 220° C.
  8. Serve with salad and garnish with roasted papad and mashed potato sticks.
