Ingredients to make Veg upma

  • 1 cup suji (semolina)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup boiled peas
  • 1 carrot chopped and boiled
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp refined/ olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Banarasi Rai
  • Curry leaves a handful
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 chopped chilli

How to make Veg upma

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add rai, curry leaves, green chilies, roasted chana dal and onion.
  2. Cook for 1 minute. Then add veggies and water and bring it to boil on high flame.
  3. Now lower the flame, add salt and sugar. Now add suji slowly and cook till done. Switch off the gas and the upma is now ready.
  4. Take a greased bowl. Pour the upma in the bowl. After 3-4 minutes, turn upside down onto a serving plate. Serve hot.
My Tip: You can add desi ghee in ready upma,it gives nice flavour.
