Sesame Chicken

Ingredients to make Sesame Chicken

  • chicken pieces (boneless/with less bones) 500 gm
  • sesame seeds (roasted) 2 tablespoons
  • ginger (minced) 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilies 4-5
  • Chopped carrots 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped capsicum 1 tablespoon
  • Chily garlic Sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Soya sauce 2 tablespoons
  • vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • chicken broth 1 + 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch / cornflour 2 tablespoons
  • Refined oil/Sesame oil 2 tablespoons
  • salt
  • sugar

How to make Sesame Chicken

  1. Boil the chicken with little salt to get the chicken broth.
  2. Marinate the boiled chicken in little soya sauce and salt for atleast 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the chicken pieces.
  4. Remove the chicken pieces and keep them aside.
  5. In the same wok heat oil and stir fry the ginger and chilies with the vegetables for a minute or two.
  6. Add the soya sauce, chili garlic sauce, vinegar and broth in steps, finally add the cornstarch and let the sauce boil.
  7. After a minute add the chicken pieces and boil for few minutes more before adding the roasted sesame seeds to it.
  8. Serve hot with rice/noodles.

My Tip:

If you want a sweet taste don't hesitate to add a little bit of honey in the sauce. And instead of deep frying the chicken (the traditional way) you can stir fry them.
