ABOUT Sesame Chicken RECIPE

Chinese dish with deep fried chicken pieces (preferrably boneless) tossed in a sauce made of cornstarch, vinegar, chicken broth and sugar, finally topped with toasted sesame seeds.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken pieces (boneless/with less bones) 500 gm
  2. Sesame seeds (roasted) 2 tablespoons
  3. Ginger (minced) 1 tablespoon
  4. Green chilies 4-5
  5. Chopped carrots 1 tablespoon
  6. Chopped capsicum 1 tablespoon
  7. Chily Garlic Sauce 1 tablespoon
  8. Soya sauce 2 tablespoons
  9. Vinegar 2 tablespoons
  10. Chicken broth 1 + 1/2 cup
  11. Cornstarch / Cornflour 2 tablespoons
  12. Refined oil/Sesame oil 2 tablespoons
  13. Salt
  14. sugar

Instructions

  1. Boil the chicken with little salt to get the chicken broth.
  2. Marinate the boiled chicken in little soya sauce and salt for atleast 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the chicken pieces.
  4. Remove the chicken pieces and keep them aside.
  5. In the same wok heat oil and stir fry the ginger and chilies with the vegetables for a minute or two.
  6. Add the soya sauce, chili garlic sauce, vinegar and broth in steps, finally add the cornstarch and let the sauce boil.
  7. After a minute add the chicken pieces and boil for few minutes more before adding the roasted sesame seeds to it.
  8. Serve hot with rice/noodles.
