Ingredients to make Chocolate Chip Almond Cookies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cup all purpose unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

How to make Chocolate Chip Almond Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F .
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts.
  4. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. Make sure not to overbake the cookies else they will become hard on cooling.
  6. When you take out the cookies from the oven, they might appear little softer but let them cool completely on wire rack. On cooling , the cookies harden a liitle.
  7. Serve them immediately with a glass of milk or tea or store in an air tight container.
