ABOUT Broccoli chicken Khichadi RECIPE

Khichadi for kids above 1 year with added chicken and broccoli.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken boneless 250 gms
  2. Broccoli 1 cup
  3. Rice 1 cup
  4. Any daal 1/2 cup (I used moong daal with skin)
  5. Onion 2
  6. Ginger and garlic crushed 1 tbsp
  7. Curd for marination 1 tbsp
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Turmeric just a pinch
  10. Garam Masala as per taste
  11. Bay leaves 1 or 2
  12. Jeera 1 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with curd, salt, turmeric and ginger.
  2. Refrigerate for minimum of 1 hour.
  3. Pressure cook till soft.
  4. Prepare khichadi by adding a little water used in cooking chicken.
  5. Heat oil in a kadhai, add jeera, bay leaf and cinnamon stick. Add onion and saute for a while.
  6. Add in the garlic and saute. Add broccoli and saute for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Add all the masalas mentioned, according to taste. (Less spicy for kids.)
  8. Add small pieces of chicken, saute for 5 minutes. Add khichadi and eventually add in the rest of the ghee.
  9. Serve with plain curd or raita.
