Custard Malai Cookies

Ingredients to make Custard Malai Cookies

  • 2 cups Maida
  • 1/2 cup Custard Powder
  • 3/4 cup Malai/ Milk Topping
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup icing Sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain white Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • Milk (at room temp) enough to add if u feel ur dough is dry

How to make Custard Malai Cookies

  1. Sieve Maida, Baking powder, Baking soda, Custard Powder, Salt and keep aside. Mix Both Sugar, Malai and Vanilla Essence in a mixer to form a smooth paste.
  2. Then add Oil and mix well. Add the dry ingredients slowly to the wet ingredients. Don't knead the dough too hard. Just bind these ingredients softly.
  3. The consistency of the final dough will be very soft, shiny and yellow in color...because of oil in it, it won't stick to your hands.
  4. Make smooth round balls and place it in a lined baking tray. Make these in batches of whatever quantity ur tray can adjust. Keep distance b/w the cookies.
  5. Now with a fork press each of these cookies to make it a bit flat. Bake these cookies in a Preheated Oven at 180 degrees for 25 min or as stated earlier depending on the size of your cookies.
  6. Once done allow to cool down at room temperature. It will be soft in the beginning but will become crisp and crunchy after a few hours.
My Tip: Use Malai/ Milk Topping for baking these.
