Ingredients to make Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

  • flour - 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp for dusting
  • Powered Suger - 1 tbsp
  • butter - 75 gms
  • Condensed milk - 1/2 tin
  • Red food colour - 4 to 5 drops
  • Baking powder - 1/8 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/8 tsp
  • cream cheese - 100 gms
  • Vanilla essence - 2 tsp
  • Coco power - 1 tbsp

How to make Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

  1. In bowl add 50 gms soft butter, condensed milk and beat for 1 minute.
  2. Add 1 tbsp of sugar and beat for 1 minute.
  3. Add food colour, vanilla essence and beat for another 1 minute.
  4. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and fold it till you get a smooth batter.
  5. Pour this batter in cupcake liners and bake it in a pre heated oven for 8 to 10 minutes at 150 to 160 degree centigrade or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Keep it aside to cool completely.
  7. In a bowl add cream cheese, 25 gm of butter, 1 tbsp of sugar and 3 to 4 drops of vanilla essence.
  8. Beat all these ingredients very well till you get a fluffy batter.
  9. Pour it in a piping bag and keep in refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.
  10. Apply the frosting on the top of the cupcakes of your desired design.
  11. Sprinkle some crushed cupcake on the top and serve.

My Tip:

Before applying the frosting make the cupcakes cool down completely, else the frosting could melt. If the batter becomes too thick then you can add some milk into it.
