Ingredients to make American Pineapple Upside Down Cake

  • all purpose flour - 1 1/2 cup
  • pineapple Slices - 4
  • Cherry 7-8
  • Tutty fruity as per choice
  • sugar 1 cup
  • curd - 1 cup
  • oil 1/4 cup
  • Plain soda 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder 1/2 tbsp
  • baking soda 1/ 2 tbsp
  • pineapple Essence (Optional 1 tbsp)

How to make American Pineapple Upside Down Cake

  1. Add All purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, oil , essence and curd and mix well
  2. Mix it with a blender for 10 minutes.
  3. Add chopped pineapple slices and cherries in it and mix.
  4. Now grease the aluminium bowl. Sprinkle the sugar on the base.
  5. Set a layer of pineapple slices on the base and cheery in the centre along with the tutty fruity.
  6. Now pour the batter in the bowl. Take an broad face cooker and make a base of salt on it.
  7. Place the bowl on it and keep it on low flame. Cover it with the lid and remove the whistle. Let it bake for 25- 30 minutes.
  8. Check with a tester, if it comes out clean then turn off the flame, if still sticky then bake it for 10 minutes more.
  9. Turn off the flame and let it be there for 5 -10 minutes without opening the lid.
  10. Now take out the cake and let it come down to room temperature. Serve it upside down.
