Onion samosa is a great evening snacks.i love tea shop samosa. Its same taste what i tried here. My kids are great fan of this tea shop samosa.one of my friend shared this recipe. Thxs to her.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour-1 cup +1/4 cup+2 tbsp
  2. Salt - to taste
  3. Water - required to knead the dough
  4. Oil - For Fry + 2 tsp +1/4 cup
  5. For Filling :
  6. Fennel seeds -1 tsp
  7. Onion - 2, large finely chopped
  8. Coriander leaves-2 tbsp, finely chopped
  9. Red chilli powder-2 tsp
  10. Channa dal -1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add the flour, salt.mix Well.add the required water to make soft and pliable dough.cover it wet cloth. Rest it for 20 mins.
  2. Meanwhile dry roast the channadal in a kadai until Nice aroma comes. Switch off the flame.
  3. Once it cooled down completely ground To a fine powder.
  4. In same kadai add 2tsp oil temper with fennel seeds. Then saute the onion for 5 mins.
  5. Add salt, red chilli powder,channadal powder. Mix it for 2 mins. Finally add the coriander leaves, switch off the flame. Let it be cooled down completely.
  6. Knead the dough Well. Make 5 equal size ball. Roll the each ball in same size with help of rolling pin
  7. Take 1 sheet smear the oil on top.
  8. Sprinkle some flour. Then place another sheet.smear oil and sprinkle the flour.
  9. Do the same with rest of the sheet .Stack one sheet above the other,spread oil and sprinkle the flour in between. Keep stacking until the last sheet
  10. Then roll this sheet using the rolling pin Well.
  11. Meanwhile preheat the tawa and place the sheet on the tawa cook it in very low flame on both sides. No browning is needed.
  12. Remove from the flame .cut the 4 edges.we will get rectangular sheet. Then cut into 3 parts.
  13. My sheet is 9 inch long and 5 inch wide. Cover it with wet cloth. Totally we get 15 sheets.
  14. Remove each sheets seperately very careful. Mix 1/4 cup flour and water To make a thick paste. Take one sheet.
  15. Fold the right Side corner .
  16. Then fold it on left Side top.we get cone shape
  17. Place 2 tsp filling apply the thick paste and fold it.
  18. Make sure there is no sheet left.
  19. Do it as same in remaining sheets. Cover the preparing samosa in wet cloth.
  20. Heat oil in a kadai, drop the samosas and fry them in medium flame.
  21. Once it turns golden brown take it from hot oil,place them in tissue paper
