ABOUT Herb Lemon Butter Basa Fish RECIPE

A simple tasty meal which even the most reluctant fish eater will love! This recipe works well with many types of fish including tilapia, mahi mahi and also crustaceans. But, it is spectacular used with basa.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 Basa fillets
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1 cup Rice flour
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  5. 3 tablespoon lemon juice
  6. 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  7. 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  8. 1 Teaspoon oregano
  9. Salt and pepper to taste
  10. 4 tbsp Butter
  11. 1 tsp Oregano
  12. 1 tsp dried parsley
  13. 1/4 tsp thyme
  14. Juice of 1 lemon
  15. 1 tsp lemon rind
  16. Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix parsley, oregano, lemon juice, melted butter, garlic paste, salt and pepper with the egg.
  2. Dip the fillets in the mixture and let them remain soaked for 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Take them out and lightly dredge each fillet in rice flour making sure all of it is covered. Place in a baking container slightly greased with butter and place it in the oven at 190°C for 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked.
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and once it is bubbling, add the parsley, thyme and oregano and 1 tsp lemon zest.
  5. Gently cook for 1 minute and then add the lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Cook for a further minute and then pour over cooked fish. Serve the fish with fresh mint or cilantro leaves for garnish.
