Ingredients to make Meringue Kisses

  • egg white - 3
  • Granulated sugar - 1 1/2 cup
  • Fine salt - pinch
  • Vanilla or any other flavouring - 2 tsp
  • vinegar or lime juice

How to make Meringue Kisses

  1. Wipe bowl with vinegar/ lime juice. Cleaning is very important.
  2. Preheat oven to 120 degree centigrade. Baking at low temperature gives it a bright white color. And tastes lovely as its look.
  3. Place separated egg whites in the bowl and slowly incorporate air until it becomes foamy.
  4. Add salt and beat it till stiff peaks. it should not fall while turning upside down.
  5. Add 1 tbsp sugar at a time beating in medium speed. Beat for 5 minutes.
  6. Test it by rubbing meringue between your fingers. If grainy beat it till smooth and glossy.
  7. Add vanilla or any other flavouring and colour accordingly. Beat a minute and pipe it with a 1/2 inch round nozzle on to a parchment lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes as per the size of the meringue. Bigger it is, longer time it takes.
  9. After baking and cooling I used chocolate to decorate it. Can also use some sprinkles or nuts with a dip.

My Tip:

To avoid sticky and chewy meringue bake it till it comes easily from the parchment paper and leave it for atleast 15-20 minutes inside the oven after baking.
