Ingredients to make Oats and Wheat Puri with masala chana

  • Oats- 2 cups
  • Wheat flour 3 cups
  • Garam masala- 1 tsp
  • dhaniya powder- 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder- 1 tsp
  • anardana powder- 1 tsp
  • cumin seed powder- 1 tsp
  • Carom seed powder- 1 tsp
  • Black salt acc. to taste
  • Soked overnight and Boiled kala chana with its water- 2 cups
  • Oil for deep frying puris
  • Oil- 2 tsp
  • Carom seeds- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup tomato puree with 1 pc Ginger and 1 Green chilly

How to make Oats and Wheat Puri with masala chana

  1. For Puris-: Mix wheat + oats + salt + Carom Seeds + 2 tsp oil.
  2. Now knead a stiff but smooth dough .
  3. Keep dough in damp muslin cloth / clear wrap , for 30 minutes. Knead again andkeep in fridge for 30 mints.
  4. Roll out into puris, deep fry and drain.
  5. Heat a karahi add tomato puree on and cook on Medium heat , let it get thick, add all dry masalas/ powders except for the garam masala.
  6. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  7. Add chana, cook on slow till gravy thickens and masala coats chana.
  8. Add garam masala, check salt according to your taste. Serve hot with coriander garnish and onion ( optional ) lemon salad.

My Tip:

Adding oats turns these puries super crisp , Not only they Soak very less oil its super crunchy too.
