ABOUT BONDA RECIPE

A very light South Indian breakfast, ready in minutes of morning raga.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup urad dal
  2. 2 cups Rice
  3. a handful of sago
  4. salt to taste
  5. 1 tbsp chopped green chillies
  6. Coriander seeds- 1 tsp
  7. Grated ginger- 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak dal, rice and sago in water for an hour.
  2. Now grind all the soaked ingredients into a fine paste in mixer. Add salt, chillies, ginger and coriander seeds.
  3. Batter should be thick so that you can hold and dip them in round shape.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet. Fry all bondas in several batches on medium flame till they become golden brown in colour.
  5. Strain the excess oil on tissue paper. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
