Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Refined flour 2 cups
  2. Milk 3/4 cup
  3. Unsalted butter 1/4 cup (If using salted butter then don't add salt)
  4. Sugar 2 tbsp
  5. Dry active yeast 1 tsp
  6. Salt 1/2 tsp
  7. Water as required
  8. White chocolate, dark chocolate and icing sugar for garnishing
  9. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Sieve the refined flour into a bowl.
  2. In a big mixing bowl, take the refined flour along with salt, sugar, dry active yeast and butter. Mix it well to combine everything together. Pour in the lukewarm milk and add it into the flour in small portions to knead a soft dough.
  3. After 5 minutes the dough will become smooth and soft. Dust some dry flour on the rolling board and flatten the dough on it. Roll it into a round circle of 1/2 or 3/4 cm thick. Cut the donuts out of it with the help of a glass or bowl.
  4. To give it the shape of a donut, take a bottle cap that is small in size and similarly press it firmly in between the circles so that it goes through the dough. Cover and keep them aside for 1.5- 2 hours so that they become puffy. (Then they will be ready to get fried.) After 2 hours, the donuts will have puffed up and will be ready to be fried.
  5. Heat enough oil in a wok for frying. Keep the oil medium hot. Drop 1-2 donuts or as many as possible into this hot oil.
  6. Flip their sides when they become slightly brown from beneath. Keep frying until they turn golden brown in colour.
  7. Once the donuts have turned golden brown in colour, take them out on a kitchen paper towel. Likewise, fry the rest of the donuts.
  8. Donuts are now fried aptly. Take powdered sugar on a plate and dust the piping hot donuts with it. Fold each of them evenly into the powdered sugar. Place them on a plate.
  9. Now the donuts are ready to be glazed. For this, heat 2 vessels with water and place a bowl on each of them. Place white chocolate in a bowl and dark chocolate in another bowl and let them melt. Keep the flame on a medium high and stir at regular intervals.
  10. Cook the chocolates until they attain running consistency. Keep stirring them continuously to avoid browning at the base. It can take around 10-15 minutes to melt them.
  11. After 10-15 minutes, turn off the flame. Place the bowl on the wire rack. Let them cool down for a while so that they can be handled with hand. Keep stirring them with the spatula.
  12. Now pick a donut and dip one side of it into any chocolate, white or dark and let the excess chocolate fall off. Dip each donut likewise and place them on a plate.
  13. Prepare 2 cones, one with white chocolate and another with dark chocolate. Drizzle white chocolate on dark chocolate donuts and vice versa. Serve these luscious and mouth-drooling donuts as it is.
