ABOUT Sambali RECIPE

A delicious Turkish Damascus Dessert made with semolina. It's a sweet cake dipped in sweet syrup.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Semolina - 1/2 cup
  2. Flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Yogurt -1/2 cup
  4. Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
  5. Baking soda- little less than 1/4 tsp
  6. Vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  7. For the sharbat:
  8. Sugar 1 and 1/2 cup
  9. Water 1 and 1/2 cup
  10. Lime juice 1 /2 tsp
  11. Almonds - maximum 10 to garnish

Instructions

  1. For the sharbat or syrup, heat sugar mixed with water and let the sugar dissolve completely, then let it come to boil. At this point, add the lemon juice and mix it well. Keep aside.
  2. For the cake, in a bowl take yogurt and whisk it well. Add sugar and whisk again till the sugar dissolves. Keep whisking and add the flour, semolina, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla simultaneously.
  3. Take a baking dish. Oil it properly. Now put the batter in and let it settle equally.
  4. Now make light square shapes with a knife. Put an almond in the centre of each square.
  5. Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes or until it turns golden brown from both sides. Once baked, let it cool for a few seconds.
  6. Now put the sugar syrup or sharbat all over the cake. Let it fully immerse in this sharbat.
  7. Cut the squares and enjoy!

in ingredients u mentioned flour but u didn't use it in recipe.......?
