Ingredients to make Therattipal

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup jaggery
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 tsp ghee
  • A pinch of cardamom powder

How to make Therattipal

  1. Take a large non-stick pan and add in the butter. Once it starts melting, put in the 2 cups of ricotta cheese.
  2. Keep the flame on medium and cook the cheese for 8-10 minutes. Keep stirring to prevent it sticking to the bottom.
  3. Add sugar and cook for another 7-8 minutes.
  4. Next add the jaggery, at this stage you will observe that the water from the cheese has evaporated and only milk solids are left
  5. Turn the flame off and add the cardamom powder and ghee.

My Tip:

This milk halwa tastes great cold but microwaving it for 30 seconds and eating it warm is divine.
