ABOUT Baked Pineapple French Toast RECIPE

This recipe is a unique recipe that is especially good during the winter season.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/2 stick unsalted butter/ 125 gm
  2. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  3. 2 cups diced pineapple, drained
  4. 1 cup cream
  5. 1 cup milk
  6. 3 eggs
  7. 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  8. 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  9. 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  10. 1 tablespoon pineapple juice
  11. 1 loaf bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or 176 degrees C.
  2. In a large saute pan, add the butter over medium heat, then add the brown sugar and place the pineapple bits on top of the brown sugar. Cook for 2-3 minutes until a syrup forms then remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Grease your baking dish.
  4. In a medium sized bowl, add cream, milk, eggs, granulated sugar, maple syrup, vanilla essence and pineapple juice and whisk together until it's well mixed.
  5. Add some custard to the bottom of the baking dish, layer with the bread and pour the remaining custard over the bread.
  6. Next pour the pineapple and syrup over the bread and let everything soak into the bread for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Top it with more pineapple chunks and also top it with the bread cut into a triangular shape.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the custard has completely set and serve.
