Ingredients to make All Wheat Apple Date Crumble Cake

  • For the cake:
  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • egg 1
  • apple 250 to 300 gms ( washed, peeled and cut in slices)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for the apple)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • For the topping:
  • 1 and 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup dates (seedless and coarsely blended)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh cream (malai)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

How to make All Wheat Apple Date Crumble Cake

  1. Grease a baking tray.
  2. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees C.
  3. For the topping, mix the flour, granulated sugar, dates, salt, cinnamon powder and fresh cream together.
  4. For the cake, sieve the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Then add the sugar and salt.
  5. Mix the milk, egg, vegetable oil and vanilla essence together and beat it well. Then add in the flour and cinnamon powder.
  6. Mix sugar to the sliced apple, then add cinnamon powder and lemon juice.
  7. In a baking tray, adjust the flour and mix at the base, then top it with the apple slices.
  8. Spread the crumble over it and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

My Tip:

Mix the topping to make crumbles, however don't over mix it.
