ABOUT Caramelized Apple Upside Down Cake in a Cooker RECIPE

Caramelized apple cake is a delicious and healthy dessert as it is prepared with wheat flour and contains the goodness of apple. This is prepared easily without an oven and by using a pressure cooker. This cake is soft, drooling and moist.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Wheat flour 2 cups
  2. Jaggery 2 cups
  3. Dry fruits powder 1 cup
  4. Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
  5. Salt a pinch
  6. Ghee 2 tsp
  7. Oil 2 tsp
  8. Milk /2 cup
  9. For Caramelizing:
  10. Ghee 2 tsp
  11. Apple 1
  12. Sugar 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients in the baking list together into a batter and leave it undisturbed for 30 mins.
  2. Cut the apple into 8 slices and remove the seeds. (The slices should be thin enough.)
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and add the apple slices to it and toss for a minute.
  4. Keep the flame simmer. Add sugar to it and let it cook until it's caramelized.
  5. Grease the bowl with oil/ghee, sprinkle little wheat flour and put in the apples slices and remaining caramel into the bowl.
  6. Arrange the apples to cover the bottom of the bowl. Then put in the batter over the apples while covering them completely.
  7. Keep the cooker on a stove and fill it with salt for about an inch. Place the bowl on top of the salt.
  8. Close the lid of cooker. Remove the gasket and whistle. Cook it on a high flame for 5 minutes.
  9. Then simmer it and cook for 30 mins and let it cool for about 10 minutes once done.
  10. Slowly insert a knife around the outer circle and try to invert the cake to a plate. When inverted, the apples shine at the top and it is ready to be served.
