Ingredients to make Jowar Idli

  • jowar/Jolam - 3 cups heaped
  • Ured dhal white - 1 cup heaped
  • salt - as needed or 1 teaspoon
  • oil - to make the adai

How to make Jowar Idli

  1. Wash and soak the jowar and dhal together for 3 hours.
  2. Then put them in a grinder and grind well.
  3. Put salt and add more water as per the required consistency and mix it well.
  4. Keep it in a large vessel with more space above, so that the flour rises above and close it with a lid.
  5. Let it ferment for about 12 to 15 hours.
  6. Next day grease the idli plates with oil and steam the idlis for 10 minutes.
  7. Healthy jowar idlis are ready!
  8. Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
