Soak the Saamai Rice for about 20 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
In a non-stick Kadhai, heat oil and add rai, urad dal and curry leaves. When the rai splutters, add the carrots and peas. Saute for 2 minutes. Add water and salt.
When the water comes to a boil, add the drained Saamai Rice and mix well.
When this comes to a boil, keep the gas flame on low and cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
Check to see if Saamai Rice is cooked. Once done, transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot with any Pickle.
