Ingredients to make Aloo stir fry (No onion- No garlic)

  • potatoes 3-4
  • curry leaves 1 sprig
  • mustard 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • salt to taste
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • oil 2 tbsp

How to make Aloo stir fry (No onion- No garlic)

  1. Cut the potatoes into wedges shapes. Wash and marinate it with salt. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Take a pan. Add in oil to heat and and crackle the mustard seeds in it, then add the curry leaves.
  3. Squeeze the marinated potatoes and add it to the kadai. Discard the water in the bowl used for marinating.
  4. Add turmeric powder and sprinkle little water. Cover with a lid and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Once boiled, add the red chilli powder and saute. Sprinkle asafoetida and mix it well. Then turn off the flame.
  6. Serve it hot.
