Healthy Toasty Bread

Ingredients to make Healthy Toasty Bread

  • Brown bread 8 slices
  • Barik rava/ semolina 1 cup
  • maida/ Flour 1 cup
  • curd 1 cup (blended)
  • oil- 2-3 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Few coriander leaves, chopped

How to make Healthy Toasty Bread

  1. Mix the maida/flour and rava/semolina in the curd to form a paste. Pour in warm water to bring this batter to a good consistency and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan, heat little oil, then add in the mustard and cumin seeds.
  3. Now add the green chillies and onion, let it cook till it turns golden brown in colour. Add salt as per taste.
  4. Heat up a frying pan, keep the bread slices and apply this batter and turn it. Repeat this process on the other side as well. Cook till it's crispy.
  5. Serve it hot with green chutney.

My Tip:

You can add grated carrot, spring onions and capsicums as well. You can also add cheese slices to make it more appealing for kids.
