Ingredients to make Baby Corn Cigars With Garlic Mayonnaise Dip

  • Par boiled baby corns 8-10
  • all purpose flour 1 cup
  • oil 2 tsp
  • butter 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Baking powder- a pinch
  • Mixed herbs 1 tsp
  • chilli flakes 1 tsp
  • oil to fry
  • For marination:-
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • chilli powder 2-3 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • garlic paste 3 tsp
  • Pizza seasoning 2 tsp
  • vinegar 2 tsp
  • water 1 cup
  • For accompaniments:
  • garlic flavored mayonnaise
  • Red and yellow bell peppers, finely chopped

How to make Baby Corn Cigars With Garlic Mayonnaise Dip

  1. In a bowl, add the oil, chilli powder, salt, pizza seasoning, garlic paste, vinegar and mix it well.
  2. Vertically cut the baby corns into two pieces and add them into the bowl with the mixture. Mix and keep them aside for 30 mins.
  3. In another bowl, take the all purpose flour, oil, baking powder, water, mixed herbs, chilli flakes and prepare a paratha like dough. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
  4. Make small puri sized rotis of the dough. Then take each individually cut pieces of the marinated baby corn and wrap it in the roti, give it a shape like cigar (cylindrical) and seal it properly.
  5. Fry the readied baby corn cigars on medium flame till they are golden brown in colour.
  6. In a small glass, (shot glasses would work too), add the garlic mayonnaise, finely chopped bell peppers, salt, and seasoning.
  7. Partially dip the fried baby corn cigars and serve them.

My Tip:

If you prefer, paneer can be used instead of baby corn.
