Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

  • Boiled sweet potatoes (medium sized) 300 gm
  • Milk powder 200 gm
  • amaranth (Rajgira) flour 50 gm
  • A pinch of salt
  • baking soda 1 teaspoon
  • cardamom (elaichi) powder 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (ghee) enough to deep fry
  • water 1 cup
  • sugar 2 cups
  • Rose water 2-3 drops

How to make Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

  1. To prepare the jamun, mash the boiled sweet potatoes and add in the milk powder, amaranth (rajgira) flour, salt, soda and mix them properly.
  2. Once the ingredients are mixed properly, make small balls and deep fry them in the vegetable oil (ghee).
  3. To prepare the sugar syrup, take water in a pan, add sugar in it and heat it for 10 minutes. Make sure that the sugar is dissolved properly.
  4. Once the syrup is ready, add rose water and cardamom (elaichi) powder in it.
  5. Garnish with rose petals and your dessert is ready to be served.

My Tip:

Sweet potato is rich in fibre which helps in digestion.
