Ingredients to make Lasooni tikkas in a noodle basket

  • boneless chicken -250 gms
  • coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • mustard oil -1 tsp
  • hung curd - 1 cup
  • cream cheese- 100gms
  • green chilli- 1 chopped
  • noodles- 200gms (boiled and drained)
  • oregano herb /mixed herb- 1 tsp
  • lots of garlic (about 7-8 cloves chopped)
  • Butter- 50 gms
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

How to make Lasooni tikkas in a noodle basket

  1. Wash and pat dry the chicken, cut into tikka size pieces.
  2. Take a large bowl, add chicken, hung curd, mustard oil, pepper, oregano, freshly ground ginger garlic paste, green chilli, fresh coriander and salt.Mix well and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. For the noodle basket- Take a large steel sieve and arrange the boiled noodles over it so that it resembles a basket. Heat oil for frying in a large kadhai. Lower the sieve with the noodles in it into the hot oil.
  4. Let the noodle basket cook till brown and crisp, drain well onto paper towels and keep aside.
  5. For the lasooni tikkas- Heat butter in a pan and add lots of garlic to it, cook garlic till golden, next add the marinated chicken and saute till well cooked on both sides.Add the cream cheese and mix well.
  6. Just before serving, take the noodle basket on a platter and layer the prepared lasooni chicken tikka over it.
  7. Garnish with some freshly chopped coriander and serve.
