Ingredients to make Smoked Hilsa Biryani

  • 4 PIECE HILSA FISHES
  • 500 GM BOILED EXTRA LONG GRAIN BASMATI rice
  • 100 GM yogurt
  • salt to taste
  • 3-4 CHILLIES
  • 1 TSP YELLOW FOOD COLOUR MIXED water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • mustard PASTE 2TBSP
  • mustard oil 4 tbsp
  • BROWNED onion 1/2 BOWL
  • milk 1 cup
  • 4 green cardamoms

How to make Smoked Hilsa Biryani

  1. MIX THE YOGURT, MUSTARD PASTE, SALT AND ADD IT TO THE HILSA PIECES IN A MICROWAVE PROOF BOWL.THEN ADD OIL AND CHILLIES FROM THE TOP. COOK IT IN A MICROWAVE FOR 8 MINS.
  2. IN A HUNDI, POUR THE GRAVY OF THE HILSA. NEXT ADD THE RICE, FOOD COLOUR, MILK, CARDAMOM, BROWN ONION. MAKE THE 2ND LAYER OF RICE. ADD THE BROWNED ONION, PUT IN THE FISHES AND COOK IN A LOW FLAME FOR 8 MINS.
  3. NOW TURN OFF THE GAS AND ADD A HOT CHARCOAL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HUNDI. POUR THE BUTTER FROM THE TOP. PUT ON THE LID AND KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 20 MINS.
  4. SERVE THE HOT HILSA BIRYANI.
