Coconut Watermelon Burfi

Ingredients to make Coconut Watermelon Burfi

  • Freshly grated coconut or coconut powder about 2 cups
  • Condensed milk 1/2 can (You can adjust it according to your taste.)
  • Green and Red food colour- a pinch or two
  • butter or Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Chocolate chips or sprinkles for the seeds of a Watermelon

How to make Coconut Watermelon Burfi

  1. Dry roast the coconut in a low flame until a nice aroma emanates.
  2. After about 7-8 mins add in the condensed milk and the butter. (No need to add any nuts because it is awesome in taste as it is.)
  3. As soon as you add butter, it will start leaving the sides of the pan. (You can add more butter as per your taste.) Then wait for it to cool down.
  4. Divide it into two parts. A bigger part and a smaller part.
  5. Add the red food colour to the bigger part and mix it. Then add green food colour to the smaller part and mix well.
  6. Now make a semi circular pattern with the green colour first. Below it comes the red colour. (Next, you need to cut them into triangular pieces as shown in the picture.)
  7. Use chocolate chips or sprinkles to decorate the seeds.
  8. Enjoy it with your family or at your kid's birthday party.

My Tip:

Use freshly grated coconut for best taste. You can individually shape them into triangular burfis and make them look like watermelon slices.
