ABOUT Onion and Tomato Chutney RECIPE

One of the simplest chutneys that can be made from pantry staples

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 tomatoes chopped
  2. 2 onions chopped
  3. 2 cloves of garlic chopped
  4. 1 tsp oil
  5. 1 whole red chilli
  6. salt to taste
  7. sugar to taste
  8. For the tempering
  9. 1 tsp oil
  10. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 6-8 curry leaves

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute the onion, red chilli and garlic together. Add tomatoes to it and cook until very soft about 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Cool the mixture. Once cool, put it all in a blender with salt and sugar and blend until smooth.
  3. 3. Make the tempering by hearing a bit of oil in a pan and adding the mustard seeds to it. Let it splutter and then add the curry leaves to it.
  4. 4. Adjust for seasoning and add the tempering on the chutney. Mix well and serve with snack of your choice.
