It is an traditional Indian dessert.i learned to cook from my mother and it's still popular.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bread 8 pieces cut into roundels
  2. Sugar 2 cup
  3. Water 1 cup
  4. Colour orange 1 pinch
  5. Saffron 8 strings soaked in 2 tsp milk
  6. Dry fruits chopped 1/2 cup
  7. Green cardmom powder 1 tsp
  8. Rabdi 400 gm
  9. Oil for frying
  10. 1 pinch of colour extra (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Deep fry the bread (roundels) until golden brown.
  2. Make sugar syrup of one string consistency. Add saffron milk and colour in this syrup.
  3. Dip the fried bread pieces in this hot syrup, turn both sides and leave it in for 4 to 5 minutes or until they becomes soft, keep aside to cool.
  4. Spread 2 tsp rabdi on one piece. Put another piece on top of it
  5. Again spread rabdi, add dry fruits on the top.
  6. Sprinkle cardamom powder. Soak extra saffron in milk and sprinkle on top.
  7. Serve chilled.
