ABOUT Chicken Kofta and Potato Curry RECIPE

Meatballs cooked in gravy with potatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 / 2 kg chicken boneless or minced
  2. 2 medium size potatoes
  3. 3 onions medium size
  4. 1 tbsp roasted gram flour (sattu)
  5. 2 tsp ginger and garlic paste
  6. Cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder 2 tsp of each.
  7. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  8. Oil 1 cup
  9. Water 2 cups required for the gravy
  10. Salt as per taste.
  11. Chopped coriander and green chillies ( optional )

Instructions

  1. If you have boneless chicken cut it into small pieces and grind the chicken.
  2. Add sattu, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder (1 tsp each) and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder. Also add salt.
  3. Mix all the ingredients and divide the mixture into lemon size balls.
  4. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into quarters.
  5. Heat oil and add the potatoes. Fry a little, remove from oil and keep aside.
  6. Finely slice one of the onions and fry in the oil.
  7. Grind the remaining onions into a fine paste and add to the fried onion.
  8. Add the ginger and garlic paste, add all the powder spices and salt.
  9. Cook well till the oil separates.
  10. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
  11. Add the fried potatoes and meatballs.
  12. Cover and cook on slow flame for 10 minutes
  13. Check the salt and garnish with chopped coriander and green chillies
  14. Serve hot.
