ABOUT Cheese Corn Cigars RECIPE

A corn and potato appetiser with a cheese filling.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 cup boiled potatoes (mashed)
  2. 1 cup boiled corn kernels
  3. 1 stock cube
  4. 1/2 tsp chilly flakes
  5. 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  6. 1/2 tsp dried herbs/ oregano
  7. 1 egg
  8. 4 tbs refined flour
  9. 1 cup Bread crumbs
  10. 2 cubes processed cheese
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix together the potatoes, corn, stock cube, chilly flakes, garlic paste, oregano and salt.
  2. Cut the cheese cube into 1/2 cm thick strips.
  3. Take about 2 tbs of the mashed potato -corn mixture, keep a piece of the cheese in the middle and shape into cigars.
  4. Roll each cigar in refined flour, then coat with lightly beaten egg and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Keep in the freezer for 10 -15 mins. Deep fry on medium heat till golden brown.
