Chicken Teheri

Ingredients to make Chicken Teheri

  • rice 2 cups
  • chicken 500 gms
  • Oil and ghee as required
  • ginger Garlic paste
  • jeera powder 1 tsp
  • haldi powder 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • coriander Powder 2 tsp
  • Hung curd 1/2 cup
  • Vegetables of your choice
  • tomato 1
  • chopped onion 1
  • Whole garam masala as per liking
  • bay leaf 1
  • salt as required
  • Handful of green chilies
  • Little sugar for taste

How to make Chicken Teheri

  1. Soak rice for 30 minutes, drain and then dry the rice.
  2. Fry the rice in a little oil and keep aside.
  3. Marinate the chicken with hung curd, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, haldi powder, chilli powder and salt. Keep aside for 1-2 hours.
  4. Fry the vegetables of your choice and keep aside.
  5. Heat oil and ghee, add whole garam masala and bay leaf.
  6. As aroma comes out, add chopped onions and tomato, fry for some time and add the marinated chicken. Cook for sometime.
  7. In a microwave proof bowl, boil water and add the fried rice, vegetables and the chicken.
  8. Add salt, little sugar, a handful of green chilies, rose water and kewra water (optional).
  9. Cook for 15 minutes in a microwave on full power or till rice is fully cooked. Serve hot.
