Kesariya Coconut Laddu

Ingredients to make Kesariya Coconut Laddu

  • 1/2 kg Desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 kg sugar
  • 1/2 litre milk
  • 1/4 kg mawa (home made)
  • 20 to 25 string saffron, melted in 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut for garnish
  • ghee to grease the hands
  • 200 ml fresh cream (Amul)
  • 1 cup milk powder

How to make Kesariya Coconut Laddu

  1. In big pan, boil milk and sugar. Cook till you get 1 string chashni, it will take around 20 minutes.
  2. Add home made mawa, kesar milk, cardamom powder and coconut powder. Mix well everything and cook for further 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Cool it for 1 hour, then grease hands with ghee and make laddus. Roll in coconut powder and store.
  4. For the home made mava : Fresh cream and milk powder mix both well and keep in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave it for 5 to 6 minutes, stir every minute. Mawa will be ready.

My Tip:

If you do not get good colour from the saffron then add a little food colour.
